our story

made for the wild at heart

Wildship Studio creates illustrated goods made for the wild at heart. Founded by illustrator BreeAnn Kitsuki, we’re driven by curious hearts and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors.

Our products aim to spark your inner wild while bridging the gap with the outer wild. We came up with the term 'Wildship' to capture that mysterious, unspoken bond with nature—kind of like the warmth of 'friendship' or the sense of 'fellowship.'

That’s the magic of Wildship!

Wild

  1. Living in a state of nature; Not tamed or domesticated

-Ship

  1. State or condition: Fellowship
  2. Craft or skill: Workmanship

founder & artist

meet BreeAnn

BreeAnn Kitsuki is an illustrator and designer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Born in the rugged mountains of Wyoming and raised in the lakes and woods of Michigan, nature has always been BreeAnn’s guiding star. As a kid, she’d be found sketching, swimming in lakes, and hunting for nature’s little gems such as rocks and bits of wood, which now adorn her art studio.

Bree loves hiking, plants, color, freshwater planted aquariums, eating ramen, and exploring with her husband and son. And of course, art & design!

  • Nik

Our tech-savvy guru who has it all: brains, beauty, and brawn.

  • Rachel

The ray of sunshine behind order fulfillment, shipping, and customer service.

  • Hikaru

Resident security officer and best dog ever. Cute but sleeps a lot.

  • Zoey

Everyone's supervisor. Rather sassy and lays on things.

  • designed in michigan

We are nestled in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where the city hums with handcrafted charm and the great outdoors is a skip away.

Our plant-filled home studio is like a magical Wunderkammer (wonder cabinet), brimming with treasures from years of Bree’s adventures: rocks from backpacking escapades, feathers from the local bluejays, driftwood from glacial lakes, family heirlooms, and a whole lot more. It’s our personal treasure trove of nature’s finest!

  • created by hand

BreeAnn Kitsuki draws inspiration from nature and designs all products by starting with hand painted original works in gouache, watercolor, and pen & ink.

She often wields her grandfather’s traditional dip pen – a charming relic with a knack for making magical, imperfectly perfect marks. It reminds her that even in imperfections, there’s beauty waiting to bloom.
